Today's world is filled with many challenges. As a digital, global citizen in the 21st century, it is important to be informed, engaged, and internationally competent. The Peace Corps WorldWise Schools in partnership with Delaware's Department of Education have developed this dynamic, interactive online project to provide participants with experiences to develop understanding in real, worldwide issues. This exciting, virtual adventure will provide opportunities to collaborate with an international team to investigate real-world issues through research, data collection, analyzing and synthesizing information, and creatively presenting solutions to a panel of community leaders.
PROJECT GOALS
- Through this virtual collaborative project, participants will:
- Work collaboratively with peers from partnering countries to solve problems
- Develop an awareness of global issues and how they impact all people
- Develop an understanding of and appreciation for different cultural perspectives
- Gather, synthesize, and present information
- Use evidence to support an argument or opinion
- Enhance knowledge of technology tools that promote communication and facilitate the sharing of information
- Develop an understanding of volunteerism and how service to others forms the basis of good citizenship
- Understand the mission and work of the Peace Corps and other World Wide organizations that promote services to others.
